The Razorback Inn earned the AETC Inns of Excellence Award for 2007. "Evaluators spent three days here and were impressed by the quality of the facilities and the daily customer service provided by our staff," said Ms. Randall Asselin, the lodging assistant manager here. Ms. Asselin said the Razorback Inn was originally selected for competition by AETC's leadership, based on solid business practices and outstanding customer service. "One strength noted by evaluators that set this base apart was the obvious support of leadership," Ms. Asselin said. "The Razorback Inn team is sharp; they know their business," said Ms. Lisa Stone, acting 314th Services Squadron commander. "From housekeeping to the front desk, accounting to maintenance, the team is very proficient and their professionalism shows." In the inspection report, the AETC inspection team noted that they were impressed, writing "Little Rock had the greatest teamwork and morale" the team had seen "in a long time." "I couldn't agree more with their assessment," Ms. Stone said. Ms. Asselin said, too, it helped that staff members from various Service's organizations here and students in residence at the Inn were extremely vocal in their support of the staff. This award is the first step in a world-wide competition additionally established in 1981 by the Directorate of Operations at Headquarters, Air Force Services Agency. The award is presented annually to recognize, through an Air Force-wide competition, lodging operations which provide the most outstanding, hotel-type lodging and customer service to Air Force members. "The competition is aggressive among the 96 major Air Force bases worldwide," Ms. Asselin said. "So we're in full-steam ahead preparations for the Air Force Innkeeper Evaluation team due to arrive later this summer." She said that this was a prestigious award not only for lodging but for the entire base. "We appreciate all of the support we received for the first portion of this competition," Ms. Asselin said. "And we are grateful for the support we hope to receive in preparing for the upcoming Air Force level competition."
