Staff Sgt. Storey mentored two Airmen and coordinated between the 314th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the Metals Technology shop to replace degraded C-130 ramp bushings. His exceptional leadership restored the aircraft’s airworthiness ahead of Air, Education and Training Command’s surge week, enabling on-time Fiscal Year 2024 pilot training completion.

Additionally, he directed the repair of an in-flight emergency for a left-hand landing gear “will not retract” anomaly. He analyzed and instructed three technicians through fault isolation techniques and procedures to pinpoint a faulty ball screw and inoperable main landing gear motor, along with driving the fixes.

Finally, Storey commanded his team through 962 carded items in the restoration of two C-130J’s worth $151M, reinforcing 136 sorties across 720 hours flown per month. His leadership maximized aircraft availability and backed a 0.0 repeat/recur rate, besting AMC’s 1.4 standard.
