2 Airmen start fundraising trend
Staff Sgt. Eric Miles, a 376th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle operator, receives a check April 20, 2010, for $5,000 from his squadron commander, Lt. Col. Ann Brown, representing the amount of money the unit raised when he initiated a matching donation for local children's heart surgeries. Sergeant Miles' initial goal was to raise $500, and he offered to match squadron donations dollar-for-dollar up to $250. Because of his generosity, and the generosity of the Airmen in his unit, they raised enough to fund almost 10 heart surgeries for Kyrgyz children. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Carolyn Viss)
