    Feliz quickly put service before self and assumed unit safety roles in addition to his daily responsibilities. He overcame COVID-19 travel constraints to ensure the continued certification of training devices providing 33 thousand simulation hours for over 1,200 aircrew students this year.
  • 19th AW DDRP wins DoD award 2 years in a row

    The office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness announced the 19th Airlift Wing Drug Demand Reduction Program as the winner of the 30th annual Secretary of Defense Community Drug Awareness Award, which is given to one installation from each military branch, making Little Rock Air Force Base the 2020 U.S. Air Force category winner for the second year in a row.
  • Combat Airlifter of the Week: Airman 1st Class Erica Alvord

    As a key member of the financial analysis flight closeout team, Alvord is responsible for researching and clearing delinquent travel orders. Thanks to her relentless work-ethic, she reduced open orders 29 percent leading the 19th Airlift Wing to be ranked first out of 11 wings in Air Mobility Command for two consecutive months.
  • Deployed Airman takes next STEP in career

    An Airman deployed to the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) received a surprise Stripes for Exceptional Performers (STEP) promotion to the rank of technical sergeant in a ceremony at the command’s headquarters, Oct. 22, 2020, on Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. Cable serves as the noncommissioned officer in charge of mission partner support at LRAFB. Since the middle of August, she has been deployed to the Horn of Africa and has been filling a role typically reserved for someone of her new rank.
  • GFLR 21-01: testing ground for new capability

    Army and Air Force members participate in a sling load training event during Green Flag Little Rock 21-01 at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, Oct. 19, 2020. The sling load training exercise was the first in Air Mobility Command history to involve a Polaris MRZR ATV. Previously, this type of training had been conducted with a HMVEE and this new training will help contingency response teams react faster with lighter gear.
  • 19th MXS: Painting way into history

    The 19th Maintenance Squadron corrosion control shop solidified themselves in Little Rock Air Force Base’s history with their efforts in transforming two C-130J’s paint schemes to connect back to the heritage of the 41st and 61st Airlift Squadrons.
