On a dark October night, tree branches grow into arms, reaching for scared patrons. Every unusual noise is a monster running behind you. You hope you are not the one who trips running from the growling monsters.

To attain this adrenaline rush, visit the Haunted Trail that is hosted by the 19th Maintenance Squadron, Oct. 24 until Oct. 31, from 6:30 -10:00 p.m. at the small base lake near the Fam Camp.

There are several mini haunted houses set up, that attendees are guided through for the first half of the trail. For the second half of the trail attendees zip passed zombies during the zombie run which is in an open area after the spooky houses.

A hay ride is a new addition available this year and starts at the Arnold Drive Elementary School to the trail allowing petrified travelers to rest their weary legs.

"In the past we have had a total of about 300-400 patrons go through the trail," said Senior Airman Casey Zelfer, the 19th MXS Haunted Trail president. "This year with increased base-wide inclusion, the number should be much larger."

There are also games for the children, face painting and concessions available.

Adults can participate for $8, children for $4, and the hay ride is $2. A percentage of the proceeds will go to the Combined Federal Campaign.

"I volunteered to expand on it and make it more extreme," said Zelfer. "I also wanted to include more people around the base from other squadrons and groups to help make this year better to include: 19th Security Forces Squadron, 19th Logistic Readiness Squadron, 19th Civil Engineer Squadron, 19th Force Support Squadron, 19th Maintenance Squadron, and 19th Medical Group."

Leave the trail with nightmares or popcorn, that is, if you make it out alive.
