LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. -- U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Christopher Clemons, 19th Maintenance Squadron aerospace propulsion journeyman, attended a 10-day Rolls Royce training class to further his knowledge of C-130J engines at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas.
The class is held in Indianapolis, and is available for anyone to attend. Clemons was in a class of 10 individuals from around the globe. With seven years of experience working on aircraft engines, Clemons was the best candidate for the class.
“I wanted to learn more about my job and this class showed me exactly why certain things go wrong in the C-130J engines,” Clemons said. “Because of this class, I can understand if it’s a problem we can fix here on base, or if it’s something Rolls Royce has to fix.”
Clemons has a better understanding of the engines he works on and is able to take the handbook and knowledge gained at the class to train other individuals in his shop. Clemons’s desire to learn gave him the opportunity to enhance his knowledge on C-130 engines and train Airmen for more efficient and effective mission execution at the 19th Airlift Wing.
