  • Barb Altis, a sewing ministry member, talks with a veteran at the Arkansas Veterans Home in Little Rock Dec. 18. Volunteers from the Little Rock Air Force Base chapel delivered handmade blankets and holiday cheer to 61 World War II, Korea and Vietnam veterans. While at the home, volunteers visited with the veterans and distributed blankets. Karen Peeler, the chapel music director, and Ora Brown, sewing ministry leader, led the group in singing and Chaplain (Capt.) Tony Wade addressed the veterans and prayed for them. The volunteers are part of the Chapel's sewing ministry.   • Fish jump in a net as Arkansas Game and Fish Commission employees stock the base lake with rainbow trout Dec. 15. The commission load rainbow trout in the lake each year around this time so fishermen can enjoy catching them. When waters are cold, the trout thrive; but as the water heats, the fish cannot survive. On-base fishers are required to have a state fishing license, a base fishing permit and a trout fishing stamp. For more information, call outdoor recreation at 987-3365.
