Black Knights welcome back WWII Airman during interment ceremony

U.S. Army honor guardsmen carry Pfc. Glenn Harris’ casket during his interment ceremony at Pleyto Cemetery in Monterey County, California, Sept. 30, 2023. In December 1941, Harris was taken as a Prisoner of War when the Japanese invaded the islands during the aftermath of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was then forced to march the 65-mile Bataan Death March and died due to probable malaria in Cabanatuan POW Camp No. 1, where more than 2,500 POWs perished during the war. (Courtesy photo)
