Veteran retired Col. Jim Elmer
Retired Col. Jim Elmer served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1986, accumulating more than 300 combat hours during Vietnam and earning him a Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with ten oak leaf clusters and various Vietnamese awards including the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and Palm. At 76 years old, Elmer lives in North Little Rock, Ark., continues to proudly serve his country by orchestrating the Arkansas flag program and spends his time passing along his love of country to future generations.
