AMPd up
Col. Steve Eggensperger, 189th Operations Group commander, takes an up-close look March 21 at a C-130H2.5 that’s been through Boeing’s Avionics Modernization Program. The C-130's analog dials were replaced by digital displays, increasing the amount of information at a pilot's fingertips. The Arkansas Air National Guard’s 189th Airlift Wing will train C-130 crews how to fly the AMP. The wing’s first AMP is expected to arrive in 2010. The AMP schoolhouse is expected to open in 2013.
