Warming up the holidays

Barb Altis, a sewing ministry member, talks with a veteran at the Arkansas Veterans Home in Little Rock Dec. 18. Volunteers from the Little Rock Air Force Base chapel delivered handmade blankets and holiday cheer to 61 World War II, Korea and Vietnam veterans. While at the home, volunteers visited with the veterans and distributed blankets. Karen Peeler, the chapel music director, and Ora Brown, sewing ministry leader, led the group in singing and Chaplain (Capt.) Tony Wade addressed the veterans and prayed for them. The volunteers are part of the Chapel's sewing ministry. Volunteers were: Barb Altis, Don and Ora Brown, Trudy Cotton, Barbara Hamm, Karen Peeler, Mada Lin Peeler, Savannah Peeler, Jo Ann Silvi and Chaplain Wade. (Courtesy photo)
