The 19th Logistics Readiness Squadron won big over the 19th Civil Engineer Squadron 19-6 Oct. 9, 2014, at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark. CE struggled from the get go, throwing three interceptions in the first half and were unable to find the end zone.

19th LRS had major success running and moving the ball through the air, scoring every time they touched the ball in the first half. After picking off a third pass, LRS moved the ball down the field effortlessly. Their quarterback mixed a good balance of running and passing plays and went six for six while also having three runs for big gains before punching it in. Sending a demoralizing message to the opposing team and putting another nail into the coffin, taking a commanding 19 to zero lead into the half. At the half time, the coaches knew the game wasn't over and that they both needed to make adjustments before heading into the second half of play.

"We have to stop turning the ball over on offense and get some more pressure on their QB," said Senior Airman Jeff Schwartz, 19th CE head coach. "We need to remain confident, there's another half to play."

At the half, Tech. Sgt. Tony Allen head coach of LRS, said that they had to maintain pressure on CE and not allow anything easy. He also added that they needed to keep communicating and playing as a team.

LRS recognized CE's struggle to move the ball so they tightened their defensive coverage, not allowing CE's QB to run and forcing him to make quick decisions. However, their ploy did not work; CE managed the ball in a much more productive second half but were unable to strike the end zone more than once.

LRS ran more of a time possession offense, controlling the ball and coasting to a final score of 19-6.

Turnovers proved to be the difference with CE having a total of three. The team has a week until their next match against a strong 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (2-0) coming off of a 20-13 victory over 19th Aircraft Maintenance Team One.
