"After having a baby, getting back into being physically fit was difficult," said Tech. Sgt. Erika Reese, 19th Logistics Readiness Squadron production control and analysis noncommissioned officer in charge. "You need to have something there that will motivate you."

Reese decided to start the Moms with Strollers Running Club to help moms feel better about themselves, provide consistent motivation and help get them back into being physically fit.

"I feel joining this club with definitely give me the motivation and push I need to get back into shape after having my daughter," said Airman 1st Class Kate Williams, 19th Logistics Readiness Squadron register equipment monitor assistant.

Motivation plays a huge roll in physical fitness. Without motivation, people are more likely to give up.

"Having a club that you can be committed to and say 'I'm a part of that,' can give women the motivation and resilience to achieve their goals," said Reese.

Moms with Strollers Running Club starts June 6. Sessions will be held from 10-11 a.m. every first and third Saturday of the month at the base track.

Workouts will consist of warm-ups and calisthenics with the stroller followed by interval training. Each workout will be designed to accommodate all fitness levels.

"I'm hoping this club will make it easier for moms to work out because they can bring their children. They won't have to worry about finding someone to watch their kids so they can go work out," said Reese.

The club is mostly oriented toward mothers; however, fathers are welcome as well.

Reese hopes that in the future, the club can accomplish races together as a team.

"This is a place where moms can get together, bring their children, workout and have a good time," said Reese.
