She went above and beyond working with her team of young Airmen and officers to help ensure that the legal office earned the only "Excellent" inspection rating in 18th Air Force in over two years and recognition as the Air Mobility Command Legal Office of the Year. Spurgeon also worked well beyond her normal duty hours and has taken on additional duties to compensate for a severe manning shortage and enabled her unit to continue to produce top notch legal services.
