LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. -- Operation Homefront's Back-to-School Brigade returned to base in collaboration with the Little Rock Spouses’ Club to give away school supplies for military children Aug. 5, at the Walters Community Support Center on base.

The event was for Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System enrolled military children who will be enrolled in K-12 this year.

“The Little Rock Spouses’ Club board members and volunteers assisted Operation Homefront in disseminating backpacks and school supplies to approximately 300 children at Little Rock Air Force Base,” said Brittany Boccher, Little Rock Spouses Club President.

By reaching out to active-duty military families E-1 through E-6 Operation Homefront hopes to relieve some of the financial stressors associated with military life.

“It’s been nice to see the kids’ faces light up when they get a new backpack,” U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Ronald Greig, a volunteer from the event said. “It’s also really informative for the families to be able to see what the base and community has to offer.”
