LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Arkansas. -- The 19th Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle management flight plays a key role in keeping Little Rock Air Force Base mission ready by maintaining vehicles for both ground and air operations.
“The mission of the shop is to provide services for base operations, with more than 438 vehicles assigned to the base,” said U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Michael Johns, 19th LRS maintenance shop flight chief. “The shop is made up of highly-trained individuals, they help make the mission run smoothly.”
Members complete a variety of different tasks ranging from oil changes to working on larger vehicles, such as aircraft refueling vehicles, deicers and forklifts.
In addition, the vehicle maintenance shop has experienced Airmen and civilians ready to fulfill the Combat Airlift Mission Combat Airlift mission.
“Vehicle Maintenance has 37 active-duty service members and four highly-trained civilians ensuring the Combat Airlift mission is completed on a daily basis,” Johns said. “Teamwork is the key to ensuring mission requirements are being met; our people make it happen.”
