Leadership Pathways program builds base resilience Published May 15, 2014 By 2nd Lt. Amanda Porter 19th Airlift Wing Public Affairs LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. -- Team Little Rock launched a new resilience program called Leadership Pathways to help support the Comprehensive Airman Fitness strategy. Helping agencies across the installation will offer courses and classes that support or focus on one of the four CAF domains (social, physical, spiritual and mental). Airmen and their families will now receive LP credit for attending the courses and be recognized at the squadron, group and wing level for their accomplishments. "We want to incentivize participation, but the ultimate goal is to help our Airmen, DOD civilians and their family members to become more resilient," said Stephanie Wynn, 19th Airlift Wing community support coordinator. Wynn said many Team Little Rock members are already taking the courses offered by Leadership Pathways. They have appeared during wingman days or are currently offered at the Airman and Family Readiness Center or by other base agencies. "By consistently providing these classes, we want to reduce the stigma associated with seeking help," said Wynn. "It encourages help-seeking in a low-stress, classroom environment." Individuals can register for a course using the program Appointment Plus. This website does not require a Common Access Card to log in. Therefore, Airmen and their families can access the website at their home. "While base agencies have always offered excellent classes covering these categories, Leadership Pathways will simplify the process for finding classes, making it easier to build resilience before problems arise," said Col. Patrick Rhatigan, 19th Airlift Wing commander, in his Herk Call newsletter. "This proactive approach will ensure we are well-rounded to sustain a community that can thrive and be prepared for whatever challenges arise." CAF is a philosophy and methodology to taking care of people by providing for their physical, social, mental, and spiritual fitness. The intended result of CAF is to strengthen force resilience, helping Airmen, Air Force civilians and family members become more resilient and better-equipped to deal with the rigors of military life. The most up-to-date Leadership Pathways course catalog, frequently asked questions and registration instructions are located on the base website at www.littlerock.af.mil/leadershippathways.
