The 19th Aerospace Medicine Squadron optometry clinic is a one stop shop for eye care needs. The team of five ensures proper vision correction with glasses or contact lenses, as well as diagnoses, treats and manages ocular disease and provides surgical co-management. More than 140 patients are seen at the clinic each week. A large number of patients can prevent visits to the optometrist by making an effort to prevent eye injuries. In recognition of Eye Injury Prevention Month, the 19th AMDS optometry clinic urges people to practice caution when it come to eye care. The majority of eye injuries seen at the clinic are scratches or contact-related injuries. To help save your sight, remember to take contacts out before bed and be aware of any objects that could come into contact with the eye.
