On Aug. 21, 2014, Little Rock AFB conducted a Delayed Entry Program tour that showcased a variety of career fields that the Air Force offers. Men and women who enlist in the Air Force are first enrolled in the DEP while waiting to leave for basic training. DEP members from across central Arkansas had the opportunity to see Airmen in action at the base. More than 20 recruits were able to witness demonstrations which represented a myriad of Air Force specialties. Aircrew, maintainers, security forces and the explosive ordnance disposal team showcased how they contribute to the mission each day. Although the tour was approximately four hours, recruits said that it left a lasting impression. Recruits like the ones who toured the base, make up the future of the U.S. national defense structure.
