During the last two years alone, the Air Force has seen numerous changes; whether it's been force reduction, sequestration, or even a government shutdown, Airman have adjusted to and overcome the changes being made. Now another change is on the horizon, and this time it's to the Air Force evaluation system.

This newly, redesigned system was created to better meet the needs of the Air Force and to distinguish more effectively between good and great performers, valuing their job performance first and foremost.

The Airman Comprehensive Assessment, or ACA, is now available, for both officer and enlisted Airmen, to help facilitate dialogue between supervisors and the Airmen they lead.

"Feedback is beneficial to the development of our younger Airmen," said Tech. Sgt. David Ruley, the 19th Force Support Squadron noncommissioned officer in charge of force management.

The new AF Form 931, for airman basic-technical sergeant, and the AF Form 932, for master sergeant-chief master sergeant, have replaced the old feedback forms and are the first steps into launching a new evaluation system.

"The feedback forms allow Airmen to know where they stand with their rater and where they are expected to be," said Ruley.

The AF Form 724, second lieutenant-colonel, has replaced the old officer performance feedback to align it with the current officer performance system.

The ACA allows for more two-way communication between a rater and their subordinate. It will also include a self-assessment and a detailed evaluation of expected and/or current performance, as well as specific questions on topics such as personal finances and relationships.

"All Airmen need meaningful and purposeful feedback to reach their full potential." Chief Master Sgt. Of the Air Force James A. Cody, said in a recent role call to Airmen. "We must get this right. Proper feedback is the most important element of a strong evaluation system."
