Most people wouldn't think a C-130 cargo plane maintenance squadron would have team of Airmen responsible for assembling, inspecting and storing munitions. But the 19th MXS munitions flight does just that. A team of approximately 20 Airmen works with weapons and ammunition on more than 80 acres of land on Little Rock Air Force Base. As part of their job, the Airmen supply, transport and dispose of conventional munitions for Little Rock AFB and surrounding installations. The 19th MXS munitions flight works with sister branches and 17 other organizations. Groups that rely on the munitions flight include military police, explosive ordnance disposal specialists and C-130 aircrews. Pepper spray, smoke grenades, flares and ammunition are only some of the projectiles in the munitions flight's arsenal. The 19th MXS munitions flight is the largest munitions flight in the Air Force's Air Mobility Command and has put the combat in "Home of Combat Airlift" for decades.
