The 19th Airlift Wing, HERKWERX Innovation Lab is transforming ideas into practical, cost-saving solutions that directly support the mission. By leveraging 3D printing, rapid prototyping and modern fabrication techniques, the lab produces replacement parts, custom tools, and other mission essential items that would otherwise require lengthy procurement timelines or significantly higher costs. This approach reduces expenses, shortens production timelines and allows Airmen to solve problems quickly with locally developed solutions tailored to their operational needs.

Beyond manufacturing, HERKWERX serves as a collaborative space where Airmen are encouraged to think creatively, develop innovative solutions and gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies. The lab provides education, mentorship and resources that empower personnel to turn concepts into functional prototypes, giving them the skills and confidence to improve processes within their own units.
