The 19th Airlift Wing reactivated its 19th Operations Group and 19th Maintenance Group during a ceremony at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, Jan. 23, 2026.

Presiding over the ceremony was Col. Bret Echard, 19th AW and installation commander.

The decision to return to the original group structure reflects guidance from the Chief of Staff of the Air Force and aims to reduce change fatigue while strengthening commander-led readiness. As one of the Air Force’s first Units of Action, the 19th AW continues to play a key role in shaping how wings organize, train, and deploy to meet future operational demands. Reactivating the Operations and Maintenance Groups reinforces the wing’s ability to generate combat-ready Airmen and aircraft, ensuring it remains agile and prepared for evolving mission requirements.
