Staff Sgt. Shafer, a 373rd Training Squadron Detachment 4 avionics instructor, built a task listing for the Department of Defense's first C-130J Avionics Transition Course. He teamed with the 982nd Training Group to realign 90 career field education and training plan tasks for the 2A9X4 merger and earned Instructional Development Systems certification.

Additionally, he was requested for an 89 day mobile training team at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, instructing 400 podium hours for their C-130J transition. He fueled the 22nd Air Force top flying hour program and was coined by the 910th Airlift Wing Avionics Manager.

Finally, he teamed with the 367th Training Support Squadron and six host agencies to film 14 flightline maintenance tasks, fortifying the Griffin's online learning module platform by 50% for seven Air Force Specialty Codes.
