As the 19th Maintenance Group quality assurance inspector, Hood standardized aircraft maintenance procedures by authoring five local work cards and checklists, covering bird strike inspections, ground operations and equipment checks, as part of Quality Assurance’s two-year review.

He also optimized avionics software reports, removing 350 obsolete items and accelerating defensive system updates by 95% for three maintenance units, supporting two squadrons and 31 aircraft.

Finally, he identified a landing gear retrofit defect, prompting immediate coordination with headquarters and engineers to halt the Air Force-wide modification within 24 hours, preventing a potential Class A mishap across 434 aircraft.
