Adjutant General of the Arkansas National Guard recognizes efforts of 19th CES, 19th LRS

Brigadier General Olen (Chad) Bridges, Adjutant General of the Arkansas National Guard, visited Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, Jan. 29, 2025, to recognize 19th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordinance Disposal and 19th Logistics Readiness Squadron members for their efforts during a traffic incident on I-40 in central Arkansas involving military explosives. 

In recognition of members of the EOD team, Gen. Bridges presented them with the Army Achievement Medal, a military decoration awarded to members of the Armed Forces who distinguish themselves by meritorious service or achievement.  

Additionally, Gen. Bridges presented members of the LRS team with coins in recognition of their combined efforts in the traffic incident.  

Previously, U.S. Rep. French Hill spoke on the House Floor in Washington, D.C., recognizing the efforts of the EOD team and presented members with a letter of appreciation.

During the incident, the EOD members sprang into action along with the state’s First Responders to secure the Hazardous cargo and move it away from the civilian populations while also restoring use of the highway in short order. While the LRS members aided in safely transporting the cargo to a different location.
