LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. -- Team Little Rock hosted a chief release party to recognize five senior NCOs selected for promotion to the rank of E9 at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, Nov. 29, 2023.
Air Force officials selected 506 Air Force senior master sergeants for promotion to chief master sergeant out of 2,249 eligible for a selection rate of 22.5 percent in the 23E9 promotion cycle, which includes supplemental promotion opportunities.
During an honored tradition, a bus filled with installation leadership drove around base surprising the selectees at their work centers and recognizing them for their selection of promotion. The bus then took all the selectees to Hangar 1080 for the release party.
“Take it from me on behalf of all the commanders out there, we absolutely need you and we absolutely value you,” said Col. Denny Davies, 19th Airlift Wing and installation commander. “Your advice, your friendship, your mentorship, your camaraderie, everything you do from this point forward is about the Airmen.”
The Herk Nation selectees were from the 19th Airlift Wing, 314th Airlift Wing, and the 373rd Training Squadron Detachment 4, which is a tenant unit on Little Rock AFB.
