Little Rock Airman Remembered

Airman 1st Class Davio Barrosa, a 314th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron engine mechanic, passed away Saturday.

Born Aug. 29, 1970, Airman Barrosa enlisted in the Air Force 18 years ago. He has been part of Team Little Rock since 1999.

"The first time I heard about Davio was over a year ago when I was deployed to Iraq," said Maj. Eugene Carter, 314 th Maintenance Squadron Commander. "My senior maintenance person from Little Rock simply said that Davio Barrosa was the best engine mechanic on base."

Those who knew him and worked with him say that he will be missed.

"Davio was a great guy to be around; he was always telling stories and making people laugh," said 1st Lt. Jason Carney, Airman Barrosa's flight commander. "He was a great mechanic and touched everyone who knew him. Davio will always be remembered."

Airman Barrosa is survived by his wife, Rose, and two sons, Vincent and Aurelius, and his parents, Noemi Barrosa and father Alberto Barrosa.

Memorial services were held at the base chapel Thursday.
