A ribbon-cutting ceremony in base housing Tuesday marked the latest milestone measuring the success of Little Rock Air Force Base's housing privatization project.

The event at the new home of the family of Capt. Daniel Dahl, 19th Force Support Squadron, marked the opening of 30 new housing units in Hunt Pinnacle Communities' Lakeview Estates neighborhood for field grade officers.

The base family housing privatization project continues to successfully build upon the progress of the past 16 months since HP Communities took over the stagnated project from American Eagle Communities. To date, the HP Communities re-launch of the project has yielded 32 new units and 272 renovated units.

"I want to tell you how proud we are to be delivering this home today," said Brad Reisinger, Pinnacle Development vice president. "It is a significant day as we celebrate the successful partnership between the Air Force and HP Communities."

The privatized housing provider prides itself on giving military families high quality homes and high quality service, Mr. Reisinger said. They want to be the community of choice for military families.

"These projects are special. They aren't your normal 'buy it, build it, sell it' development project. [The residents] are the most important stakeholders, and perhaps the most responsible for the long term viability of this project. We may build a neighborhood, but residents can create a sense of community," he said.

The tireless work of HP Communities hasn't gone unnoticed. 19th Airlift Wing commander Col. Greg Otey said he is pleased with the progress Hunt-Pinnacle has accomplished in a short period of time. In fact, the project's new construction and renovations are about a year ahead of schedule and slated to be completed in February 2011 now, instead of March 2012.

"Since the beginning, [HP Communities] have been diligently making Little Rock Air Force Base a better place to live," Colonel Otey said. "I want to thank our teammates [at] Hunt Pinnacle for stepping in from day one and becoming a vital member of Team Little Rock."

HP Communities hosts monthly community information meetings, neighborhood watch program, monthly deployed spouse events and holiday events their upcoming Saint Patrick's Day drawing and Easter Egg Hunt.

"Senior leadership and the HPC staff are working together on creative ways to ensure our Airmen and their families have high quality housing that is convenient to work and that they can comfortably call home. Hunt Pinnacle is delivering that for us every day," said Joanne Carlon, 19th Civil Engineer Squadron military housing manager.
