Airmen piece together the past
Master Sgt. James Walters, 62nd Airlift Squadron flight chief engineer, tightens the bolts on a C-47 Skytrain static display wing Oct. 4 at Heritage Park. The C-47 Skytrain was one of the many aircraft built by the iconic "Rosie the Riveter," a fictional character who immortalized the efforts of the millions of women who worked in wartime industries during World War II. The aircraft is the latest edition to the Heritage Park displays and will be painted in a World War II scheme. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Chris Willis)
