Team Little Rock members from the 19th Civil Engineer Squadron, 19th Security Forces Squadron, 19th Medical Group and the Office of Special Investigations Detachment 327 hosted a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, Sept. 11, 2023.

The ceremony honored the 2,977 lives lost during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001. Little Rock AFB emergency responders led those in attendance through a brief history of the day and the traditions of the New York Fire Department, New York Police Department, and New York Emergency Medical Services in honor of the first responders who sacrificed their lives.

“Some of you who wear the uniform can recall the events of that day, however, the younger generation of service members may not have experienced it,” said Col. Joshua Imme, 19th Airlift Wing deputy commander. “Today, it is important that those of us who were impacted by the events of 9/11 share our stories and ensure that the future generation never forgets.”

To close out the ceremony, the Little Rock AFB Honor Guard rendered a 21-gun salute and Taps was played as those in attendance reflected on those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
