Barrie was the COVID-19 testing lead and installed a 178-thousand dollar analyzer resulting in 1,200 samples increasing capacity by 400 percent. He also helped coordinate two wing blood drives, enlisting 10 volunteers and recruiting 113 donors, collecting 120 life saving units.
