Air Mobility Command leaders announced a civic leader from the McConnell Air

Force Base community as this year's recipient of the Tampa Bay Trophy during

the 50th annual Airlift Tanker Association Symposium near Dallas, Texas.

The Tampa Bay Defense Alliance presented the 2018 trophy to Jack Pulley for

exhibiting sustained and enduring service to the community, AMC and the Air

Force.

"Mr Pulley has provided enduring and exceptional support to Team McConnell

Airmen, their families, and the Air Mobility Command mission," said Gen.

Maryanne Miller, AMC commander.  "His dedication and his servant leadership

has positively impacted the lives of our military families. It is selfless

civics like him who built the stellar military-friendly reputation the

Wichita community enjoys."

Pulley is the fleet sales manager for the Davis-Moore Auto Group, and has

been a member of the Derby and Wichita communities for 38 years. A long-time

advocate for McConnell AFB, Kansas, Pulley currently serves as the president

of the Friends of McConnell, a group of local civic leaders dedicated to

supporting military personnel and their families. The organization supports

the base and its Airmen while fostering relationships between Air Force

leadership and key community leaders.

Pulley is also an active participant in the Air Mobility Command civic

leader program. He continually works to ensure understanding of AMC's level

of activity, impact, and missions.

Most recently, Pulley was instrumental in helping people understand the

future mission impact of AMC's number one acquisition priority, the KC-46

Pegasus. As a community KC-46 aircraft arrival liaison, he organized

multiple events to help raise overall public awareness of the impact of the

aircraft and the critical mission of air refueling to national defense.

Gary Plummer, president and CEO of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce

and Pulley's nominator, said that Pulley's reputation preceded him long

before the two met.

"I can't remember a time when his name was not first among those to surface

when there was fundraising to be done or a helping hand was needed," said

Plummer. "His first love, family excepted, is always McConnell Air Force

Base and the Airmen and their families who are assigned there. Food drives,

scholarship contests, airshows, Air Force Balls, races, leadership programs,

dorm cookouts and everything in between always depend, in some way, on Jack

Pulley."

In addition to the Friends of McConnell, Pulley also serves as a member of

the Derby Chamber of Commerce, Wichita Chamber of Commerce, Wichita Hispanic

Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International, Wichita Area Home Builders and

Sedgwick County Master Gardeners. He helps diverse groups and audiences

understand what mobility Airmen and mission sets deliver for the nation.

"Jack very much embodies the Air Force core value of service before self,"

said Miller. "We're very fortunate to have him on our team."
