Team Little Rock’s retiree activities office hosted the 40th annual Retiree Appreciation event at the Walters Community Support Center on Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, Sept. 22.

Retirees networked with numerous organizations and sources on base such as Little Rock AFB family housing, the 19th Medical Group dental office and TRICARE to name a few.

“These events help maintain the camaraderie engrained in us throughout our service to this great nation,” said Robert Laxton, U.S. Air Force retiree and 19th Comptroller Squadron financial systems analyst. “The resources and fellowship provided to retirees and their families during these events are crucial to strengthen our ties to the base and local communities.”

Retirees and their families dined on snacks, and a variety of beverages as they navigated the numerous informational booths. Representatives were available to discuss how their organization can support retirees and their families.

“Retirees are a vital part of our mission and hold a wealth of knowledge,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Jennifer Allee, 19th Mission Support Group commander. “We can lean on them to share their knowledge to enhance the way we operate, therefore, their service should be remembered and celebrated with events such as these.”
