Deployed ‘prop’ repair Airmen close up shop
Senior Airman Abraham Olalde cleans a propeller test stand during the final stages of breaking down the 379th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron propeller centralized repair facility at the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing in Southwest Asia. Oct. 7, 2013. This year, the “prop shop” has repaired or refurbished 123 propellers saving the Air Force nearly $20 million in repair costs and thousands in shipping costs.
