Tuskegee Airmen

Jerry Hodges and Judge Robert Decatur, former Tuskegee Airmen, talk in the cockpit of a Little Rock Air Force Base C-130J Hercules Thursday, Nov. 16. Four Tuskegee Airmen, three of whom are native Arkansans, visited the local area recently to celebrate the first anniversary of the private organization, Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., Judge Robert Decatur chapter, and to raise funds for the local chapter's education fund. The Arkansans are: Granville Coggs, from Little Rock; Jerry Hodges Jr. from Heth; and instructor pilot Milton Crenshaw, from Little Rock. The chapter was named after Judge Robert Decatur, from Titusville, Fla. In the mid-1940s eight Arkansans were selected as Tuskegee Airmen pilots. (Courtesy photo)
