Sept. 25 Combat Airlifter of the Week

Terry Shaw, 19th Force Support Squadron school liaison officer, talks with a parent Sept. 22 who just moved to the area about transferring and enrolling their student in a local school. Ms. Shaw assisted Cabot and Pulaski County School Districts with a U.S. Department of Education Impact Aid audit and initiated ways to increase impact aid funding to both districts. She continually works toward acquiring respite care for military families with special needs children - in spite of Arkansas' five-year waiting list for service. Additionally, Ms. Shaw attends Pulaski County Special School District, Cabot School District and North Little Rock School District board meetings to keep base leaders informed and current on school issues and offers additional assistance and service to any family moving to or from the base, as well as addressing specific individual family issues regarding public and private schools, teachers, grades and regulations.
