NDI lab never tires of metal fatigue
Airman 1st Class John Stevens, 19th Equipment Maintenance Squadron non-destructive inspection journeyman, dips a tow fitting arm in a fluorescent liquid penetrant June 4 during a fluorescent liquid penetrant inspection at the base non-destructive inspection lab. Suspected damaged pieces of equipment are placed in the fluorescent liquid penetrant, which is then left to sit for 30 minutes so that the penetrant has time to be absorbed into any cracks that may be present.
