The 19th Logistics Readiness Squadron Team Two was crowned softball champs Aug. 27, 2014, at Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., as they crushed the 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in an 18-5 beat down.

The 19th AMXS walked into the game with a 10-1 record, but problems against the 19th LRS started early in the first inning, with the first two batters grounding out. However, they were able to rally and sneak a couple of runners in before the end of the inning, taking what would be their only lead of the game into the bottom of the first.

The 19th LRS came out strong in the first inning with five of the first six batters getting base hits, driving in five runs before a couple of pop flies left runners in scoring position. But the 19th LRS was only getting started.

The 19th LRS didn't just hit well, they dominated defensively, too. The 19th AMXS were three up and three down two innings in a row, only managing to get three hits. However, what took the wind out of the 19th AMXS's sails, changing the tempo of the game dramatically, were the back-to-back 6-4-3 double plays, to end the second and start the third innings, by the confident and determined 19th LRS infielders.

By the time the fourth inning came around, the 19th LRS decided it was time to put the final nail in the coffin, hitting an astounding five home runs in one inning and ending the game via the mercy rule 18-5.

The 19th LRS finished this season with a record of 9-2, ending the 19th Equipment Maintenance Squadron's dynasty, who won four of the last five championships.
