Colonel PATRICK J. EGAN JR.

Colonel Egan is the Deputy Commander, 379th Expeditionary Operations Group at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. In this capacity, he is responsible for generation and mission execution of combat air power in support of USCENTCOM. As the largest operations group in USCENTCOM, with over 330 rotational Airmen, the 379th Expeditionary Operations Group flies four aircraft types across five mission sets, and runs the largest and busiest military airfield in USCENTCOM.

Colonel Egan entered the Air Force in 1988 after graduating from Basic Military Training, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He served in Operations JUST CAUSE, DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM and Somalia as a C-5 Aircraft Loadmaster. He received his commission through Officer Training School, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama in 1996. Prior to his current position, Col. Egan was the Senior Director of Operations, 618th Air Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center), Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

Col Egan is a Command Pilot with more than 6,800 hours and has served in Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM and NEW DAWN, He is also a First Officer with a major airline.
