AFOSI: Finding the truth for Herk Nation

A controlled perimeter wrapped in fluorescent yellow tape demands curious bystanders stay back from the crime scene. Armed agents circle the tape, while crime scene investigators carefully analyze the scene, tagging, logging and preserving evidence for forensic scientists to analyze later. When thinking of a special agent, some immediately think of the portrayal on television, but in the case of the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations, there is much more to it.

19th OMRS bio team protects Airmen from work hazards

Veterinarians x-ray animals to diagnose their illnesses. Maintainers clean aircraft with a variety of chemicals. Firefighters rescue families from fire and smoke. Those careers and tasks require consideration of the effect on workers’ health after a long period of exposure. The 19th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron Bioenvironmental Flight tests those work hazards and many others like them to identify issues and put protective controls in place for workers.

Protocol: Behind the scenes making it happen

34th CTS Airman trains next generation

The C-130J Super Hercules was built to perform tactical combat airlift while flying and landing in austere environments. Moving and dropping pallets doesn’t seem to be too daunting until loadmasters have to squeeze uniquely shaped cargo into the back of a C-130, at which point it can seem almost impossible without the correct training and techniques.
