U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Daniel Logan, 19th Communications Squadron officer in charge of policy and evaluations, has been teaching boxing to Airmen at Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas, since August 2018.

Logan began boxing in technical training and eventually joined the Air Force boxing team. An Airman in his squadron heard about Logan’s hobby and asked if he would teach him how to throw a punch, so Logan offered boxing lessons.

The word around the squadron about Logan’s lessons spread like wildfire. Soon, Logan had five people participate in his boxing lessons.  For him, the lessons are about not only teaching Airmen strategies applicable in boxing, but also strategies applicable in everyday life.

“I enjoy being with these guys because it’s not just me teaching them about boxing. It’s teaching them life lessons,” Logan said. “People don’t go through life without strategies when interacting with others, so I teach them how to use strategies in boxing like they do in their everyday lives.”
