Little Rock Air Force Base and the 19th Airlift Wing, supported by other Air Force units, will serve as an aeromedical evacuation staging location in response ongoing Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Operating from the base, Airmen will move those injured in Hurricane Harvey or the subsequent storm surge from the affected area to medical facilities in surrounding states at the direction of appropriate authorities. Little Rock Air Force Base will host approximately 200 aeromedical evacuation, maintenance and aircrew members assisting those injured and will use assigned and gained C-130s to execute these missions.

Mobility Airmen are well prepared and highly trained to provide aeromedical evacuation and contingency support. The unique capabilities of the C-130 allows us to deliver vital humanitarian supplies to an area and rapidly reconfigure cargo areas to support medevac missions of patients in a seamless fashion.

Our Airmen have a remarkable capability to transport medical patients while providing higher level care and we will continue to work with our partners throughout the Air Force as well as state agencies to continue to undertake these missions.
