LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. --   Members of "The Rock:"

As an Air Force family, we have much to be thankful for this year. We've had hundreds of Airmen deploy to the Global War on Terror around the world and returned home safely; the C-130 Center of Excellence has record-breaking graduation rates, and most recently we successfully hosted over 250,000 community members at our 2006 Airpower Arkansas Air Show. There is so much to be thankful for.

I truly am proud of all of you.

Recently, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. T. Michael Moseley said the Air Force has three main priorities, 1. Fighting and winning the global war on terrorism; 2. Taking care of our Airmen and their families; and 3. The modernization of aircraft and spacecraft.

In the spirit of the holiday season, I'd like to focus on this second priority. As Wingmen we are taught to look after our fellow Airmen. During the holidays we must be vigilant in this as we travel and celebrate with family and friends. Make sure your Wingman returns back to the Rock safely after the holiday season.

Supervisors, do your part in taking care of your Airmen and their families, this is one of our main priorities.

Let's all stay safe, responsible, and look out after one another.

Have a great Holiday season!

Sincerely,
Brig. Gen. Kip Self
314th Airlift Wing commander
