Col. Greg Otey, 19th Airlift Wing commander, presents Capt. Reginald Ficklin, 19th Medical Support Squadron Medical Logistics flight commander, with a commander's coin Oct. 20 for his selection as the Combat Airlifter of the Week. Captain Ficklin was the Group 5 point of contact for the Installation Excellence Award team visit, leading the base to a second place finish and a $50,000 reward. He's also a key leader in the base's disease containment plan, procuring a four week supply of flu personal protective equipment, helping ensure the base's defensive posture for the flu season. Chad Countryman, 19th Equipment Maintenance Squadron assistant non-commissioned officer in charge of munitions accountability, with a commander’s coin Oct. 27 for his selection as the Combat Airlifter of the Week. Sergeant Countryman earned the honor through his performance in providing critical munitions support to 19th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordinance disposal flight which enabled the destruction of 130 potential explosive hazards found statewide through civilian assistance agreements with local law enforcement agencies. Children of Team Little Rock Airmen participate in a Trunk-or-Treat event Saturday at the base’s War Fit Track. During the event, hosted by the 19th Airlift Wing Spouses Group, families decorated the trunks of their cars or vans and handed out candy to children as an alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating.
