C-130s demonstrate Combat Airlift at the Thunder Over the Rock Open house and Air Show
 
The Team Little Rock mission is integrated and innovative. The combat airlift mission and installation excellence happens through a synergistic concept the base and community call Team Little Rock. It is a total force association of civilian & Active Duty, Guard & Reserve, instructors & students. The 314th Airlift Wing from AETC and the 189th Airlift Wing, Arkansas Air National Guard, provide the foundation of combat airlift with initial training in the C-130J and C-130H models. The 19th Airlift Wing and the Reservists in 913th Airlift Group provide combat-focused, battle ready operators to combatant commanders. Lastly, the 29th Weapons Squadron from Air Combat Command produces graduate-level instruction in weapons and tactics employment.

The C-130 Hercules primarily performs the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The aircraft is capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport for air dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas. The C-130 operates throughout the U.S. Air Force, serving with Air Mobility Command, Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Combat Command, U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Pacific Air Forces, Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserve Command, fulfilling a wide range of operational missions in both peace and war situations.
