Not into planes?  No problem. The 2016 Military Expo at Little Rock Air Force Base Sept. 17 offers attractions to keep your feet on the ground and eyes in the skies.

Witness the excitement of the Arkansas Circus Acts, or jam with the 106.7 The Ride DJ. Once those calories are burned from dancing, one can quench his thirst or feed her hunger by dining from one-or more-of the approximately 40 food vendors.

Static displays of an R-11 fuel truck, up-armored HUMVEE and a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter will be available accompanied by a weapons display of the M9, M249 and M500. There will even be a few drones present such as the RQ 11-B RAVEN Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Subject matter experts will be present to answer questions of inquiring minds.

Children have a place to cool off and have fun as well. There is going to be a Kid Zone loaded with activities ranging from rock climbing, a petting zoo to a bouncy house. Entry fees and activity prices are available on the Rockin’ at the Rock website: http://www.rockinattherock.com/arkansasmilitaryexpo.shtml.

Even if aerial events don’t cause one’s interest to take flight, they’ll be plenty more events to keep a person grounded into the expo.
