A base-wide exercise will close some Little Rock Air Force Base hunting and scouting areas Oct. 2, impacting hunters who obtained base permits.

Hunting and scouting areas 20, 23A, 23B, and 24 will be closed because the 19th Airlift Wing Inspector General’s office will be conducting inspections and preparedness training.

During the exercise and the rest of the hunting season, outdoorsmen must have the following items to participate:

  • Current Arkansas hunting license and base hunting permit

  • Little Rock Air Force Base Form 20: parking permit (Keep on dash of vehicle when scouting or hunting so  it is easily visible to security personnel, or your vehicle could be towed)

  • If born after 1968, the 10-hour hunter safety course (Arkansas accepts other states)

  • Service members on environmental leave from an overseas duty station may hunt on-base for free with a copy of their orders and military Identification card

Additional information and restrictions can be found through 19th Force Support Squadron Outdoor Recreation.
