CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT KENNETH R. CARTER

Chief Master Sergeant Kenneth R. Carter is the Command Chief for the 19th Airlift Wing, Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas.  The Wing is responsible for providing worldwide deployable C-130 aircraft, aircrews, support personnel, and equipment for Air Mobility Command and Air Expeditionary Force tasking's while serving more than 10,000 personnel and families in the Little Rock community.  As the command chief for the 19th Airlift Wing, Chief Carter advises commanders and staff on mission effectiveness, professional development, military readiness, training, utilization, health, morale, and welfare of the Wing's enlisted Airmen and takes action to address shortfalls and challenges.  He provides leadership to the enlisted force and is the functional manager for group superintendents and first sergeants within the Wing.  

Chief Carter grew up in San Antonio Texas and entered the Air Force in May 1990.  He completed technical training as an Aircrew Life Support Specialist and spent 13 years serving as a skilled technician, master instructor, Group and Wing Life Support trainer, and on staff at HQ AETC.  In 2003 he transitioned into the PME career field as instructor and Commandant, Airman Leadership School.  In 2005, he graduated the First Sergeant Academy and has served as First Sergeant at squadron, group and command levels for the past 11 years.  Prior to assuming his current position as Command Chief, he served as the Command First Sergeant for United States Strategic Command, Offutt AFB Nebraska.
